When is a good time to sell my practice?   

We realize that selling your practice is an extremely important decision for you and your family, both professionally and personally. Some physicians sell their practices because they are seeking to extract some value from the business they spent their life building, others are tired of the administrative headaches and want to focus on practicing medicine, while others are seeking to transition to something else or just want a change.

What happens to my practice once I join ChenMed?    

ChenMed’s integration team specializes in transitioning you, your staff, and your patients to ChenMed. We ensure that the transition is communicated transparently, proactively, and on a timely basis. We support transitioning staff with robust onboarding training.  

What happens when I want to retire?   

We know that retirement is a big step. After dedicating many years of your life to your patients and building your practice, determining how best to navigate the situation for both yourself and your patients can pose several challenging questions. Should you wish to sell your practice and retire, ChenMed will be there to support you and your patients every step of the way.  

We can first assist in an assessment and valuation of your practice to help you understand your options when the time to sell is right. Next, our dedicated integration team can develop a comprehensive plan for a smooth transition of your practice while providing continuity of care for your patients.  

How will you determine the value of my practice?

Once you decide that sell your practice, we will begin a due diligence process where we seek to learn more about you and your practice. Our goal is to be minimally intrusive but gather enough information to provide the best value for your practice.  Practice financials, clinical performance, and patient panel rosters are some of the items we look for as part of the diligence process. 

If you buy my practice, do I also need to become a ChenMed physician?   

There are a few different options available to you and joining as a physician is just one of them. We have assisted physicians in all stages of their careers, from those seeking to retire immediately to those seeking to continue their careers with us. Should you choose to join us, we offer both clinical and leadership roles that can meet your professional goals.
