COVID-19 Unemployment Crisis: How Fee-For-Service is Crippling Primary Care

More than 1.4 million health care workers are currently unemployed due to the COVID-19 crisis. Many of those unemployed are in Primary Care, Cardiology and other major fields, but how are those who are supposed to be on the front lines of this pandemic jobless right now? Join ChenMed doctors Faisel Syed and Dan McCarter as they explain how the Fee-For-Service model is crippling the current health care system.
 

About Dr. Faisel Syed: Dr. Syed has recently been featured on international news outlets to discuss COVID-19. He earned his medical degree at the Iberoamerican University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic before moving on to perform his family medicine residency in Columbus, Georgia. Upon completing his residency in 2014, he began serving the Tampa community and has been making an impact ever since.
 

About Dr. Dan McCarter: Dr. McCarter specializes in family medicine and population health. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Virginia Health System. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians, the Medical Society of Virginia and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
