Jim Whitling

As Chief People Officer, Jim Whitling is responsible for leading ChenMed’s Human Resources function which includes, recruitment, talent development, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits.

Jim most recently served in a similar role as ChenMed’s Chief Human Resource Officer for six years before assuming his current role. While at ChenMed, Jim collaborated closely with executive leaders and HR teams to effectively attract, retain and develop team members, leading to a fourfold increase in ChenMed’s workforce during his tenure.

Before joining ChenMed, Jim worked at ALCON, where he held senior positions within the company’s human resources department for 18 years including global vice president roles. As a Vice President and global function head at ALCON, Jim was a strategic advisor to several C-level executives, including the presidents of North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa, and the Global Commercial, Manufacturing and Quality heads. Throughout his career, Jim has led and managed the human resources functions for thousands of associates.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in human resources management from the University of Texas at Arlington. Jim and his family enjoy playing and attending sporting events, travel and outdoor activities from the beach to the mountains.
