300 Seniors to Receive COVID-19 Vaccines Saturday, April 24, at Chen Senior Medical Center in Hallandale Beach

WHO: 300 at-risk Hallandale Beach area residents ages 50 and older; 20 Chen Senior Medical Center volunteers, including doctors, nurses, medical assistants and operations leaders, including German Lafaurie, M.D., primary care physician

WHAT: 300 pre-scheduled COVID-19 vaccinations will be safely administered by appointment only this Saturday as a community service. The one-day mass-vaccination event is being led by Chen Senior Medical Center primary care physicians working in partnership with the City of Hallandale Beach.

The Pfizer vaccines are being provided by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) to better protect thousands of seniors in underserved neighborhoods from the coronavirus pandemic. The vaccines are among nearly 1,000 being administered at ChenMed sites in Florida this weekend. During the past seven weeks, Chen Senior Medical Centers in in South Florida have vaccinated 22,000 at-risk local seniors as a community service.
